Peikko Group has filed opposition to Permaban patent and denies any co-operation

Peikko Group has filed a formal opposition in the European Patent Office to the European Patent Number EP1985759 of UK-based floor joint manufacturer Permaban Ltd. The opposition was filed at the exact same day of granting the patent, on 24th November 2010.

The case concerns features of a product similar to Peikko's TERA Joint system which is used in high-quality industrial concrete floors. Despite information submitted by some parties to the market place, Peikko has no agreement whatsoever with Permaban.

During the opposition procedure, currently underway, evidence relating to the granted patent will be submitted to the European Patent Office in order for it to be revoked.

"The on-going opposition procedure has absolutely no influence on Peikko's customers. Peikko will do all the necessary actions to protect the sale of its products and protect the IPR-rights it owns, now and in the future." comments Topi Paananen, CEO of Peikko Group Corporation
